• When the sun shines excess energy produced will be fed back into the main grid and therefore creating credits from your supplier
• Solar energy is non-polluting and environmentally friendly
• The energy required (the sun) to create solar power is free
• Very low maintenance with good quality systems lasting 20-30 years and beyond
• Eliminates the need to source raw materials from unstable and dangerous countries
• Reduces the incidents of tragic oil spills into the oceans during drilling or transfer operations
• Increased property values that have solar energy systems attached
• A great option for people in isolated areas
• Blackout protection (providing you have some stored energy)
• Has many applications e.g. sailors on yachts, railway signal systems, satellite public phones, space satellites and  cars.

What Are The Solar Energy Disadvantages?

Ok, sounds great. Nothing can be that good, l hear you say. You’re right, there are some disadvantages to consider here. These are;

• Expensive setup costs (Although there are often government rebates and tax incentives to counteract this cost)
• These systems will not produce energy at night and reduced amounts during cloudy days( But you can store energy produced during sunny periods which could be used at these times)

In Summary
